Kyur is committed to driving positive change. Every scrub we sell is accompanied by a special bag sewn at Mission 14®'s sewing school in Managua, Nicaragua. Working together with Mission 14 we are empowering local communities with vocational training and making a difference.
Mission 14 operates two key initiatives to combat poverty and human trafficking. In Nicaragua, the organization launched a sewing center aimed at providing vocational training to economically disadvantaged individuals, many of whom are vulnerable to exploitation. By teaching commercial and industrial sewing skills, Mission 14 has helped over 650 graduates secure employment, achieving a 80% job placement rate. The sewing center not only offers sustainable livelihoods but also breaks the cycle of poverty in communities long affected by unemployment and economic despair.
In the U.S., Mission 14® has collaborated for the past 8 years with law enforcement agencies to address human trafficking. They host annual seminars, such as the Maryland Human Trafficking Investigators Seminar, where to date over 2000 police officers, prosecutors, and service providers have undergone training. These free conferences, supported by donations, equip participants with specialized skills to identify and rescue victims of trafficking, often young and vulnerable individuals. By fostering interagency collaboration, these initiatives have directly led to the arrest of violent traffickers and enhanced the support network for trafficking survivors across multiple states.
